Exploring the Pacific coast of Mexico
After our stay at Isla Isabela, we continued on our trek north. Our goal was to get across the Sea of Cortez, and start exploring the cruising grounds that everyone was talking about.
We arrived at Isla Isabel and tucked into a small anchorage on the east side. The island is well known as a bird sanctuary, and we were eager to go and explore.
Today we toured San Blas. It is one of the loveliest shore towns we have seen in Mexico. It has nicely paved streets, straight sidewalks, and renovated buildings.
We arrived at Matanchen after a pleasant day of sailing. Here we explore the jungle by the river and see their mighty inhabitants. We also sample local food.
It is hard to believe that it has been about 2.5 months since we arrived in Banderas Bay. It went fast. It is the end of the season here and the time of departures.
We have spent over two months in Banderas Bay. This was our payback time – we had finally reached a place where we could enjoy being there.
