After 800 miles of rugged coastline, it was exciting to reach the end of the Baja peninsula and be back in the fully civilized world. But after two days, we could hardly wait to get out of there.
After spending a month in Ensenada, we have finally departed for the next segment of our journey. Ahead of us stretched a rugged coast of Baja. It is just the two of us this time.
We have finally crossed the border and are in Mexico. This is our long-dreamed destination. Our introduction to the country, its culture, and customs started with Ensenada.
Our stay in Monterey ran longer than planned but in late October we finally made a hop to Santa Barbara and started a month-long exploration of Southern California.
We came to Monterey to stay for about a week and thoroughly explore and enjoy it. We ended up staying almost a month. Not by choice, but due to personal health issues.
Our arrival to San Francisco Bay marked a transition - our dedicated crew, Drew and Steve, were leaving us and we were about to continue the journey on our own.
