Together we saw the Ballet Folklórico de México, rode boats in Xochimilco (never too far from boats :), and sampled the food around the town.

Until the next time!
A few samples from our visit to Museo de Antropolo A few samples from our visit to Museo de Antropología. We have spent 3 afternoons there and easily could do more. I think we can say that we know a bit about Mesoamerican cultures, and definitely way more than what we knew a month ago.
A few interesting facts:
- Teotihuacán, the city developed early in the first millennium CE north of the current Mexico City, was one of the 6 biggest cities in the world at that time
- the ball game was practiced here for a long time, but it was a high-stake game, as wrong play could result in players not surviving the game
- the name Aztecs was given to the people of Mexica culture, they did not call themselves Aztecs. The name Mexico is, of course, derived from Mexica
- the whole city of Mexico was really a lake, and the town was started on a few small islands
- when Spaniards came, they used stones from the biggest Mexica (Aztec) pyramid - Temple Mayor - to build one of the biggest cathedrals, on the same site.

If you are ever in CDMX, make sure to stop by this museum.
We just finished our 3 weeks in CDMX (Mexico City) We just finished our 3 weeks in CDMX (Mexico City). There are way too many pictures to share, but we just picked a few. This city is, at the same time, huge and overwhelming while being very livable and accommodating. It is hard to describe and needs to be experienced. We don't think we have been to any city like that.
It is fascinating - the museums, parks, history, food, nightlife, people, and neighborhoods, all add up to a diverse mix.
